i cried today

at the RE’s office. I can’t remember the last time I cried over this IF crap. Oddly enough it was (opposed to those who cry to get a script for clomid) because I don’t want to take it.

She seems to think that since I’ve never had an STD or Endo, my tubes are fine. And the prog test last week shows that I have a weak ovulation. She really wants me to do 3 rounds of 50 mg clomid with prog testing. No thanks. I’ll pass until after we know for sure my tubes aren’t blocked.

I have contacted my insurance company to see what is and isn’t covered for IF testing/treatment/procedures since they list nothing on their website.

I hate insurance.

It would be about $750 to do an hsg if my insurance doesn’t cover it. We went ahead and scheduled for it next week in case they will pay for it. If not, we’re not getting it done. Which also means no clomid.

So I guess that’s where we are. I do like that the Metformin somewhat regulated my last cycle. I O’d on CD 15! That makes me happy.

  2. {{HUGS}} I am sorry. This IF crap sucks.

  3. Totally feeling you on that note but I caved in a few months ago for the Clomid. It kind of sucks at first but when your body adapts to it then it’s not so bad. I had an HSG when my last doc went in for a lap to check for endo and the tubes were clear, I also have the great PCOS. Good luck to you and whatever you choose to do…just know that there is a ton of support out there in the IF world 🙂 If you haven’t heard of the Cyster Connection (http://pcostcc.proboards83.com/index.cgi) you should check it out. When I first found out I had PCOS I had a ton of questions and they have so much info on there.

  4. I’m sorry P. Crossing my fingers that your insurance pulls through. Sending you lots of hugs.

  5. It is smart to do the HSG. But don’t be so scared of clomid. I know you’ve heard a lot of bad things about it but it DOES work for a lot of women. And it could just work for you. Hang in there. I hope you can get the HSG paid for.

  6. I hope your insurance will cover the HSG P, and you can move forward. I’m also sorry that you are sad. IF and sadness sucks.
