one last effort

I’m giving the oatmeal and fenugreek two weeks to help my milk supply. If it doesn’t do anything, I’m done pumping. I have ordered these to help her latch better. I know I can make more if she could latch on a regular basis, but that doesn’t happen. This is all I have in me. I’ve busted my ass for the last six weeks to barely get an ounce a day.

We put her on Similac Advanced Sensitive (soy) because she just wasn’t doing well on the regular Similac Advanced. Similac sent me a sample container and she’s taking it very well. Today is day three and she’s definitely not as fussy as she was during and after feedings, but now her breath smells like corn afterwards. :/

  1. Hugs. BFing is so hard. Good luck with the fenugreek and oatmeal. She’ll thrive no matter how you feed her

  2. good luck- i think breastfeeding is one of the hardest things i’ve ever done!

    …i like corn.

  3. Hey, p. Sorry BFing is not going so well. Oatmeal works well for me. Last time, I shopped I bought 5 boxes so I should probably start buying some stock in oatmeal soon. Another thing that has helped me is drinking hot decaf tea. I have no idea why. I was drinking the nursing tea but I couldn’t stand the black licorice taste. One day I drank the decaf and noticed it made a big difference so now I drink it regularly. Also, combining blessed thistle with the fenugreek is supposed to help. Last, my kiddo didn’t latch worth a damn and a nipple shield was a life saver for us. If you’re making a last ditch effort, you could try that, too. There’s all of my unsolicited advice. Good luck, p and I hope it works out.
